  • Mong Cai border gate: The number of import and export vehicles passing through Mong Cai border gate also increased, however, customs clearance is basically normal, there is no congestion.

    • Number of exported vehicles: 25,000 vehicles (up 13.6% compared to March 2024).

    • Number of imported vehicles: 23,000 vehicles (up 15% compared to March 2024).

    • Total value of imported goods:

      • March 2024: 1.2 billion USD

      • April 2024: 1.4 billion USD (up 16.7% compared to March 2024)

    • Main imported commodity groups:

      • Consumer goods

      • Fertilizer

      • Building materials.

  • Lao Bao border gate: The customs clearance situation at Lao Bao border gate is relatively stable. However, there are still some cases of local congestion because customs clearance procedures on both sides of the border have not been unified.

    • Number of exported vehicles: 17,000 vehicles (up 13.3% compared to March 2024)

    • Number of imported vehicles: 14,000 vehicles (up 16.7% compared to March 2024)

    • Total value of imported goods:

      • March 2024: 0.8 billion USD

      • April 2024: 1 billion USD (up 25% compared to March 2024)

    • Main imported commodity groups:

      • Agricultural

      • Forest Products

      • Seafood

In addition, some other border gates such as Xa Mat border gate, Bo Y border gate, Hoa Lu border gate also recorded a relatively stable customs clearance situation.

Forecast:

  • The customs clearance situation at Vietnamese border gates in the coming time will continue to be stable.

  • However, local congestion may still occur at some border gates on peak occasions such as holidays and New Year.
